Congratulations to the Greensborough Historical Society and President Noel Withers!
On Wednesday 26th June, at the Society at the Australia Museum and Galleries Association Victoria Annual Award Night, the Greensborough Historical Society was the successful winner of the Volunteer- Run Group award!
We are thrilled that a local group was honored for all their valuable work. The official AMaGA Victoria cited, “Volunteers from the Greensborough Historical Society were commended on the comprehensive documentation of an additional 676 items since July 2018, bringing the Society’s total public offering to 6,214 collection entries on the website”. Many thanks to all the members of the Thursday Crew who gave their time and energy to preserve and share the history of our local area. Special mention also to President Noel Withers, pictured, who attended the awards and has led the team to earn this special commendation. Further thanks for all the members who were so willing to share their “treasures” with the Society to create such a wonderful collection of stories from Greensborough.
As the winner in this category, Greensborough Historical Society receives a generous prize from Mal Padgett Design to the value of $2000 comprising a Brightsign player plus three days of onsite assistance to create a display of digitised collection items.
